Make a Quick 2 Pocket Signature Wrap for Junk Journals!
This is another of our Daily Junk Journal Tutorials.
Today we will use a packet of envelopes and cards from the thrift store. (I love the pretty flowers on those cards.) I am mostly interested in experimenting with the envelopes though. I want to mesh the envelopes together to create a signature for a book. As you see in the tutorial, two symmetrical pockets are formed after slipping one card inside the other. I want to glue them together without glue going everywhere, so I’m marking a glue line with pencil first. It didn’t exactly work as I had planned. I put some glue in the wrong place. Oh well. Mistakes will be made, but I’ll try to turn it into a positive to demonstrate how to fix a silly mistake! I’m thinking “learn and grow.”
So I’ve decided to hold off on the glue. Wetting and wiping the card’s glue with a damp rag will prevent it from being sticky. Next I am just resting the card into the other one without gluing. I am just going to glue the back edge of the card and fold it over. Now I think we’re back on track thank goodness! Sorry about that. So, get the card’s glue off, insert the envelope to join them together, and there you have it. We have two signatures, which we will use along with the pretty cards in a future lesson. Thanks for watching (and being patient)!! Keep on junk journaling!!
