Alphabet Challenge Lettering 5 Ways – The Letter C
Today’s letter is the letter C, for my daughter Casey. Starting out with calligraphy markers and following my lettering reference book, I need only two simple strokes to draw a C as you see. Holding the marker at a 45 degree angle, you can easily follow the video tutorial to learn the options. Now I use a gel pen for a curvy C. Using blue acrylic paint, I now review the next method for drawing a C. Don’t you just love the ease of following the directional arrows on the instructional letters?! One counterclockwise and one clockwise stroke. Easy peasy! Even my husband could do this. Ha Ha.
Press lightly, draw and release. It takes a little practice, but you will quickly acquire a feel for it. Now I go to my Hand Lettering Made Easy book. I prefer to draw a letter with pencil to trace first, so that corrections can be made if needed. Then I trace with a permanent ink pen. A bit of 3D on this one. A collage C is last on today’s junk journaling list. I’m tearing paper for this one to form a C. (Not as easy as I thought!) Oh well, it becomes a collage C after all!
