How to Make Fat Juicy Tags from Scraps
Let’s dive right in and see what we can do with these tags. I like to pour paper scraps onto my desk and place them in order of colors. Laces, jib-jab pieces of fabric, ribbons, and buttons, etc., are included. I am pondering what to do with the first tag shown. I think I’ll just add a pull tab at the top. That looks pretty good. Adding a bit of glue to attach. There is the minimalist tag with its tiny heart. Cute!
The first fat juicy tag that we have is being accentuated by drawing around the outline with a water soluble Tombow marker. Now we brush some water around the tag to create shadowing. Next we accent around the tag on the back and shadow as well. The ink will run being water soluble, and therefore will need to be sealed with a fixative or hairspray as we have done before.
Now we go to another fat tag that has a big letter A on it. I have outlined it with a purple gel pen as shown. Using the cutter, we round the corners for a little added flair as well. Let’s do some stamping now to cover a few marks on the tag. I love that cute little pattern so I mark it several times. We’ll color those in later.
Next we will grab a sheet of tulle fabric, which is easy to tear and fun to use. I love the feel of It as well. It can be dyed if you wish. A small torn piece is glued to the tag. Tea-dyed antique patterned lace is applied as a ribbon through the hole on top. With a gel pen we now color in the small floral designed stamp patterns. Words, button, lace, flowers…and whatever else suits your fancy! A pretty pink ribbon is tied on to another fat juicy tag.
There are so many uses for these tags as you can see. Use your imagination, get into that contagious creativity, have fun, and pass it on! I hope you have enjoyed today’s journaling as much as I have!
