Watch the video and make Easy Folded Box for Junk Journal Pages with me. ❤️❤️❤️ Today we are exploring a form of origami, or paper folding, that I hope will interest and inspire you. We’ll call it “Secrets within Envelope Box.” Please follow the tutorial for understanding the step by step process, as this project can be a bit confusing when learning it the first time. I promise that it will become easy for you with a little repetitive practice. Please scroll down for the tutorial video.
Easy Folded Box for Junk Journal Pages
Easy Folded Envelope Pocket Box – I call Secrets Within. The little box shown was made with card stock. I especially love the cute little heart boxes inside. The one seen reads, “Live, Love, Laugh.” Now we go to the book page that I experimented with mod podge on instead of gesso. This gives it a shiny look. I sprayed it a few times with a little bottle containing red gel food coloring that I found at the Dollar store. I then closed the pages for a nice butterfly shape. This leaves a perfect place for the little heart card to hide.
We are using 12″x 12″ heavy scrapbook paper for making the box. First we fold the paper in half, being careful to line it up well. Next it is folded in half the other direction as shown in the video. Then we make a diagonal fold; at this point you will know if it is folded squarely. Fold diagonally now the other way.
Next we take a corner and fold to the center, followed by another smaller fold to the center point line just created. As before, now do the same exact folds on the other side. The following folds meet at the center as you see. Now smooth out with bone folder and fold over long ways in two, using the crease already there from a previous fold.
This leaves us at the difficult part of the process. Please watch carefully here. Turn the edge up and out at the center and smooth it down as shown. Repeat on the other side. Take your time with this. No need to rush it!
Pull edges out and fold to the triangular point where the sections meet. Smooth out again, then fold edges to the center. Fold now to form a rectangle, and we have completed one side ready to open and close. Follow the same steps on the other side, leaving another rectangular shape. The project is now complete with a square shape, and you have a perfect box to open and close!
